A Webbville woman finds herself in hot water after Constable Paul Wells and Constable Daniel Castle received a multitude of complaints which led to an arrest and the recovery of stolen goods.
Kristie Johnson was served with a criminal summons for animal cruelty after an investigation revealed she abandoned dogs and horses when she moved to Ohio, leaving the animals without food or water.
Lawrence County animal control officer Jess Perry seized the animals a short while ago and they are taken care of.
While on scene, it was discovered that her three juvenile children have not been to school since last school year. She was also charged with failure to send the children to school.
In addition to an outstanding warrant for theft from Carter county, Constable Wells discovered a generator valued at over $2,000 inside the breezeway of a barn adjacent to the house. The investigation revealed the generator was reported stolen from a business in Ashland. Additional charges are pending as a result of this investigation.
Johnson was transported to the BSRDC.
