Lawrence Co. Head Coach Scott Johnson
“… We had a hard time dealing with Boyd County on Saturday. They are a very complete team all around and something to model for us in the coming years. When we went down to Belfry on Tuesday, it was a long hot bus ride and game. We were up 3-2 late off Luke Johnson’s hat trick and then coughed up the tying goal in the last few minutes to put it in extra time. We survived two golden goal periods and won in a PK shootout. I think our legs have worn down this week and that showed last night against Ashland. We played well and really controlled the first half with exception of goals scored. With tired legs, we let Ashland back in it in the second half before winning it late. Both teams played hard.”
