Cantrell drills 3-pointer with 5 seconds left to win tourney game
Fort Gay, W. Va. — Crum guard Rob Cantrell hit a corner three pointer with five seconds left to give the Mountaineers a 31-27 Victory over C-K in the first round of the Wayne County Middle School Tournament held at Fort Gay Middle School.
Crum built a 18-11 lead going to halftime that evaporated quickly in the 3rd quarter behind Jake Hutchison of C-K who had 13 points to lead the Wonders in scoring. Buddy Castle led the Mountaineers with 8 points before fouling out in the 4th quarter.
Blake Sturgill had 7 points including a 27 foot bomb to end the 1st half and two free throws to seal the victory with 3 seconds left. Jessie Muncy came off the bench to chip in with 5 points, Tyler Johnson and Cory Davis both had 4 points and handled the C-K press nicely.
Rob Cantrell had the biggest three points of the night for his only points of the game. Crum hit 2 three pointers and went 9-23 from the foul line.
Crum will move on to Semifinal Action on Thursday at 5:30 vs #1 Seed Vinson

Buffalo 43, Ft. Gay 24
In the second game it was Buffalo taking out Fort Gay by the score of 43-24 after wearing down the Vikings in the 2nd half.
Fort Gay led 17-13 before Buffalo went on a 8-0 run to end the first half and take control of the game.
Austin Salmons and Zane Sturgill had 9 points each to lead the Vikings. Zach Fraley, Carson Stuart, and Chris Perry had 2 each.
Fort Gay hit 1 three pointer and went 3-10 from the foul line.
Buffalo was led by Garrett Hall and Zack Ball with 11 points each. The Bison will move onto the Semifinals and face #2 Seed Wayne at 6:45 on Thursday also at Fort Gay.
