Clark’s Pump-N-Shop, Inc., with support from Marathon, has donated $13,000 to Ashland Community and Technical College’s BuildSmart Campaign.
From August 26 to 29 this fall, area Clark’s Pump-N-Shop stations held a “Pump a Penny” event to support the ACTC campaign to renovate the original building at the College Drive Campus. During that time period, Clark’s Pump-N-Shop donated 1¢ for each gallon of gas sold at 27 participating stations in Boyd County, Greenup County and Grayson, KY; Huntington, Ironton, and South Point OH; and Wayne WV. In addition, Marathon contributed $250 for each participating station, and Clark’s Pump-N-Shop matched the Marathon contribution.
BuildSmart is a public-private partnership approved by the Kentucky General Assembly to help fund the top capital project at each KCTCS college. ACTC’s top priority is renovation of the original 1970s building at College Drive which has never been modernized. By raising 25 percent of the renovation cost, ACTC will qualify for the remainder of the cost through state agency bonds.
