CHICKEN TROPHIES AND MOMENTS OF GLORY!
This AMAZING group of teenagers, three being Lawrence Countians, represented the state of Kentucky at the National 4-H Poultry and Egg Conference. They competed as the state Poultry Judging team and came in 3rd place in the Nation!
Along with this came several individual awards as well. Caleb was 7th place in the Ready-to-Cook Poultry category. Racheal was 3rd overall in Production Hens and 4th overall in Ready-to-Cook Poultry. All 4 team members placed among the top 24 poultry judgers in the NATION with Caleb placing 13th overall and Racheal placing 7th overall! Their hard work and determination paid off.
These kids know their chicken business!
PARTNERSHIPS BUILD DREAMS! 4-H GOES LEGOS
LEGO Robotics begins for the first time in Lawrence County 4-H. Along with a partnership with the Community of Sharing, 3 teams developed this year, 2 being Jr teams featuring 6-8 year olds and 1 being a First Lego League group with ages 9-14.
The two age divisions practiced for weeks before their competitions. The Jr Teams competed in Huntington, West Virginia. The FLL Team competed in Hazard. Each competition was a huge learning experience and our teams shined throughout.
We hope to grow even more next year, so keep a lookout for LEGO camps and the start of our new season! 3…..2…..1…..LEGO!
