Grant Kiser thanks family, coaches, teammates and fans…
Bowling Green, Ky. — Lawrence Co. Senior QB Grant Kiser had a year for the ages in 2015 and was rewarded over the weekend for his efforts when he received the Class 3A District 6 Player of the Year award.
Grant led the Dawgs to a 9-4 record this year and a Regional Runner Up finish with two of those losses coming to Belfry who went on to win the Class 3A State Championship.
Kiser had 2,480 yards passing and 25 touchdowns. He also had 706 yards rushing and 11 Touchdowns on the ground. Grant was a two year starter at QB and amassed 5,642 yards of total offense and 65 touchdowns and went 18-8 under center for his career.
“I’m very Proud of him, thought he was well deserving of the Award,” LC head coach Joey Cecil said. “Grant did an exceptional job of distributing the football, both throwing it and in our option game. He broke several school records this year for the season.”
Kiser is looking to further his education and football career at the next level.
He is also a starting forward on the LC basketball team that is rated #1 in Region 15 this season. He averaged 10 points and 4 rebounds last season when his Bulldogs made it to the Regional finals.
Grant was a joy to cover this year. He was always respectful, win or lose.
