Louisa, Ky. — The 2015-16 Lawrence Co. Lady Dawgs are a work in progress after losing 4 starters and all but 8 points per game from last year’s team. The youngsters have held their own through the first week going 2-2 with only one of those games at home.
Lawrence Co. 48 Elliott Co. 34 Monday Nov 30th
In the home opener the Lady Dawgs jumped out to a quick start vs the Elliot Co.Lady Lions and cruised to victory.
Alexis Ratliff paced LC in scoring with 15 and pulled down 7 rebounds, Kendra Spaulding had 11, Kara Williamson had 9 to go along with a team high 9 rebounds, Layken Chapman 8, Chelsey Fields 3 and Kassidy Cavins rounded out the scoring with 2.
Prestonsburg 67 Lawrence Co. 56 Dec 4th
The Lady Dawgs hit the road for the first time on the year and lost for the first time. Kara Williamson was the leading scorer and rebounder with 17 and 8 respectively, Layken Chapman had 11 points and 7 rebounds, Kassidy Cavins and Kendra Spaulding had 9 each, Alexis Ratliff had 8 and Semarra Akers chipped in with 2.
Lawrence Co. 57 South Floyd 50 Dec 5th
The Lady Dawgs traveled back to Floyd Co. for the second time in as many days and this time came away with a victory. Layken Chapman was the leading scorer with 10, Kara Williamson had 8 points and 6 rebounds, Alexis Ratliff had 8, Kendra Spaulding 5, Scyler Bowens 5 points and 6 rebounds, Kelly Davis and Semarra Akers had 2 points each, Kylie Maynard chipped in with 1 free throw.
Wayne, W. Wv. 59 Lawrence Co. 40 Dec 7th
The Lady Dawgs were on the road again for the third time in four days, this time vs the Lady Pioneers of Wayne, W.Va. Kendra Spaulding led the Lady Dawgs in scoring with 13 points and pulled down 4 rebounds in the defeat, Alexis Ratliff had 9 points, Kassidy Cavins 4, Kelly Davis and Layken Chapman had 3 each, Kara Williamson, Kylie Maynard, Sheree Hay, and Scyler Bowens had 2 each.
Lawrence Co. will be back in action this Thursday as they travel to Rose Hill and Friday at home vs June Buchanan both games with be Varsity only and will start at 6:00
