Louisa Middle School Academic team wins 2nd place overall in the Sixth Grade Showcase
Louisa, KY- On Saturday December 5th Louisa Middle School hosted the sixth grade Academic Team Showcase. Louisa Middle School came in Second Place to Ashland Middle School overall. This is one move up from last year. Scoring for the competition began earlier in the week when students from Ashland, Boyd County, Fairview, Louisa, Fallsburg, and Blaine gathered to begin the Written Composition piece.
Students began testing at 8:30am on Saturday in areas of Science, Social Studies, Mathematics, Language Arts, and Arts and Humanities. Following testing, quick recall matches began where the student teams competed against each other to answer questions. Louisa Middle placed fourth in Quick Recall overall. In addition Louisa Middle had several students place in the individual testing categories.
* Susan Lin placed 3rd place in Mathematics
* Landon Bays placed 6th place in Science and 3rd place in Social Studies
* Luke Brumfield Placed 5th place in Science and Social Studies.
* Ella Fitzpatrick placed 3rd place in Language Arts and 5th place in Arts and Humanities
* Abby Preece placed 4th place in Written Composition
Louisa Middle School is coached by Bill and Deana Hammond. Students practice weekly to prepare for competition. Louisa Middle School will participate in the Academic Team District Competition on January 23, 2016.
