November Indictments
One couple racks up indictments for forged checks…another couple indicted on charges related to break in, Florida man deceives Yatesville …and 49 year old grows pot
The Lawrence County Grand Jury indicted seven individuals on charges mostly related to theft….and one pot grower.
Kenneth Anthony Stepp, 31, Louisa, KY was indicted on charges of Criminal Possession of Forged Instrument 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of Forged Instrument 2nd Degree/Complicity (2 counts), and Persistent Felony Offender 1st Degree.
According to the indictment, on or about August 8 through August 10, 2015, Kenneth Stepp knowingly and unlawfully forged a check on an account registered to GPY Corporation for the amount of $104.70, cashed at Valero in Louisa, KY. On August 9, Stepp acted alone or in complicity with Regan Young by being in possession of a forged check on an account of Sunrise Development for the amount of $289.38, cashed at The Barn Door in Louisa, KY, attempting to cash at Family Foods in Lomansville, KY. Defendant is considered a persistent felony offender due to being convicted of a previous felony.
Regan Lee Young, 42, Louisa, KY, was indicted on charges of Criminal Possession of Forged Instrument 2nd Degree (4 counts), Criminal Possession of Forged Instrument 2nd Degree (2 counts), Burglary 3rd Degree, Theft By Unlawful Taking Under $500.
According to the indictment, on or about August 9, Regan Young knowingly and unlawfully was in possession of a forged check on an account registered to Sunrise Development for $369, cashed at Walmart in Louisa, KY. Defendant was in possession of a forged check registered to Sunrise Development for the amount of $511.07, cashed at Tractor Supply, Louisa, KY. Defendant also acted alone or in complicity with Kenneth Stepp by being in possession of a forged check registered to Sunrise Development for the amount of $289.38 cashed at The Barn Door in Louisa, KY, and attempted to pass a check at Family Foods in Lomansville. Other checks Young forged and cashed were $469 from Sunrise Development, cashed at Station 23 in Ulysses, Sunrise Development for $156.33, cashed at Valero in Louisa. Indictment also states that on Aug. 8, Young entered into Joe Young Insurance Office, a building owned and operated by Loretta Young, with the intent to commit theft. On Aug. 10, Defendant shoplifted automotive batteries from Tractor Supply in Louisa with a value if $200. Defendant is considered a persistent felony offender due to being previously convicted of a felony.
Misty Borders, 34, Louisa, KY, was indicted on charges of Burglary 3rd Degree/Complicity, Theft By Unlawful Taking/Complicity, Possession of Burglary Tools/Complicity, and Theft of a Motor Vehicle Registration Plate/Complicity.
According to the indictment, on or about Oct. 22, 2015, Misty Borders acted alone or in complicity with Johnathan Lester by knowingly and unlawfully entering into a garage owned by Kentucky Coal Transport with the intent to commit theft. Borders also acted alone or in complicity with Lester by taking 110 gallons of diesel fuel valued at $276.10, (4) tractor batteries valued at $716, and a five gallon bucket of gear oil valued at $116.20 from Kentucky Coal Transport, with a total value of $1,108.30. Borders acted alone or in complicity with Lester by being in possession of instruments adapted, designed or commonly used for forcible entry. Defendant also acted alone or in complicity with Lester by unlawfully taking a motor vehicle registration plate registered to Big Blue Auto Sales of Louisa, KY.
Johnathan Lester, 26, Louisa, KY, was indicted on charges of Burglary 3rd Degree/Complicity, Theft By Unlawful Taking/Complicity, Possession of Burglary Tools/Complicity, and Theft of a Motor Vehicle Registration Plate/Complicity.
According to the indictment, on or about October 22, 2015 Johnathan Lester acted alone or in complicity with Misty Borders, by knowingly and unlawfully entering into a garage owned by Kentucky Coal Transport, with the intent to commit theft, and taking 110 gallons of diesel fuel valued at $276.10, (4) tractor batteries valued at $716, and a five gallon bucket of gear oil valued at $116.20 from Kentucky Coal Transport, with a total value of $1,108.30. Michael Ratliff, 32, Webbville, KY, was indicted on charges of Bailjumping 1st Degree and Persistent Felony Offender.
According to the indictment, on or about September 25, 2015, Michael Ratliff knowingly and unlawfully failed to appear at a specified time and place as ordered by the court in connection with a felony charge of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd Degree, a Class D Felony. Defendant is also indicted on charge of Persistent Felony Offender due to being convicted by a previous felony.
Ricardo Early Malaga, 43, Hialeah, FL, was indicted on a charge of Theft By Deception.
According to the indictment, on or about Dec. 1, 2014, Ricardo Malaga knowingly and unlawful engaged in a course of conduct that deprived Mr. Kirby Thacker and Mr. Johnny Gibson of Louisa, KY (Yatesville Marine) of $774.50 by creating the false impression of selling a product or other merchandise as Xcessive Marine and receiving $774.50 for merchandise without sending the merchandise in return, defrauding the victim of $774.50.
William Ossie Kennedy, 49, Webbville, KY, was indicted on a charge of Cultivating Marijuana (more than five plants).
According to the indictment, on or about July 28, 2015, William Ossie Kennedy knowingly and unlawfully cultivated (52) marijuana plants.
