MIDDLEDAWGS FINISH SEASON AT 9-2
Louisa, Ky — The Louisa Middle School Bulldogs wrapped up another successful season last week with victory in the Border Bowl vs Boyd. Co by the score of 54-12. With the win LMS finished the season with a 9-2 record.
The Dawgs had wins this year over Paintsville, Russell, Raceland, Ashland, East Carter, West Carter, and Boyd Co. just to name a few.
Head Coach Tate Smith had a lot of question marks in the preseason, he said, and every one of them were answered. The Dawgs came out every game and competed at the highest level, Smith said.
The defense was a huge surprise this year led by Trey Halfhill and Corbin Fairchild. On the offensive side of the ball it was Fairchild, Jaxon Johnson, Brody Cantrell and Trevor Young. LMS will lose some talented 8th graders that should shine at the high school level in a couple years but they also return some 6th and 7th graders that will help next year.
COACH’S COMMENTS
” We had a great year, didn’t get to play a couple games on our schedule but nothing we could control,” Head Coach Tate Smith said. I saw a lot of kids improve throughout the year. Our Defense was outstanding for the most part this year and that was a concern before the year started. I want to thank all of my coaches for putting in the time for another year, Nick Meadows, Tim Rose and Donnie McClelland. Also want to thank all of the Kids and Parents.
