LOUISA POLICE DEPT ARREST

On October 16, 2015 after receiving the complaint of possible drug activity in the Super 8 Motel of Louisa, the Louisa Police Department conducted an investigation of room 221 registered to John David aka “Billy” Chaffin of Kermit West Virginia.
Based on information gathered during the investigation Sgt. Steven Wilburn obtained a search warrant of the premises and vehicle that the subject had been driving. Officers recovered items which suggested that Mr. Chaffin had been trafficking in a controlled substance and empty Oxycodone prescriptions.
Seeing that Chaffin nor his vehicle was not at the scene at the time officer’s waited in an unmarked vehicle until Mr. Chaffin arrived back at the Super 8 where they arrested him and completed the search where officers recovered 180 Neurontin. Chaffin was charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 3rd degree, Possession of Controlled Substance 1st, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Chaffin also had an outstanding warrant in Boyd County and a Criminal Summons from Martin County.
Assisting Sgt. Wilburn was Ptl. Hunter James, Ptl. Jordan Miller, Chief Greg Fugitt and K-9 unit Kenya.
