Playoffs begins on Saturday at Shelby Valley
Louisa, Ky — Louisa Middle School football team hadn’t played a game in awhile but that didn’t effect them one bit as the Dawgs took down Raceland 38-14. The win improved Louisa Middle School to 6-2 on the year as they get ready for the State Playoffs that begin on Saturday.
Corbin Fairchild accounted for four touchdowns including three TD passes to split end Jaxon Johnson. Trevor Young and Brandon Smiley also added touchdown runs for Louisa. The Dawgs led 20-6 at halftime and cruised to victory in the second half. The defense was once again very good and didn’t show any rust from the layoff.
Lawrence Co. will be the #5 seed and will travel to #4 Shelby Valley on Saturday, Oct 10th game at 3:00pm.
COACH’S COMMENT
“They moved an extra guy to the outside to shut down our outside veer so we made the adjustments and started running inside,” Louisa Middle Head Coach Tate Smith said. “Raceland was also laying off of our receivers and that opened up the bubble screen. Still have to work on our two point conversion plays we left too many points out there. Our focus the rest of the week will be on the first round of the State Playoffs,” Smith said
