Rebels go ‘Buck Wild’ on Sissonville, stay unbeaten
Sissonville, W. Va. — (10/4/2015) The Tolsia Rebels ( 6-0 ) didn’t let a long bus ride or sloppy conditions at Joe Sawyer Field effect them as they took care of business 26-0 over Sissonville ( 1-4 ) who was playing their first home game of the year.
The Rebel defense was lights out all night holding the Indians under 150 yard of total offense. Seth McMillion got the Rebels on the board with a 61 yard touchdown run to give Tolsia a 6-0 lead. After another Rebel stop Luke Presley was looking to add to the lead but fumbled right near the goal line but teammate Blake Rose was ‘Johnny on the Spot’ and fell on it for the touchdown and a 12-0 lead at halftime.
It was still 12-0 in the 4th quarter when Jennings Holland found paydirt from 30 yards out and the two point conversion was good for a 20-0 Tolsia lead to give the Rebels some breathing room. Luke Presley added the final dagger when he took a screen pass from McMillion and raced 31 yards for the touchdown and set the final score of 26-0.
The win moves Tolsia to 4-0 in Cardinal Conference play and should move the Rebels up in the WVSSAC Class AA rankings. Tolsia will be off next week and then host unbeaten Chapmanville on Oct 16th. Sissonville will play Herbert Hoover on Oct 9th.
Coach’s Comment
“The defense played super tonight,” Tolsia Head Coach Mike Smith said. “Offensively we were sloppy in the first half, we made a lot of mistakes, but for our first real road game and given the weather, it turned out ok. I thought we did a nice job running to the football.”
