Bulldogs will be at full strength after bye week
Louisa, Ky. — After a week off the Lawrence Co. Bulldogs ( 4-1 ) should be back to full strength when they face the Raceland Rams ( 4-2 ) tomorrow night at Luke Varney, Jr. memorial Stadium.
The teams have been playing well and are coming off wins, Lawrence Co. beat Greenup Co. 19-15 two weeks ago and Raceland beat Portsmouth West 41-21 last week. In a odd twist of schedules the teams will meet in Louisa once again this year.
Raceland was victorious last year 47-14 when they forced seven turnovers on their way to an easy win over the Bulldogs. Both coaches expect a much closer game this year and have great respect for each other.
Senior QB Grant Kiser is leading the Dawgs with 423 yards rushing and five touchdowns he also has 638 yards passing and five touchdowns through the air. Kiser will have all of his weapons for the first time this year. Brandon Richardson, Austin Chaffins, and Luke Schaffer are healed up and ready as are brothers Timmy and Robert Dalton, who will play together for the first time since Middle School.
Cole Mosley and Zach Keesee aren’t far behind Kiser in rushing the football with 394 and 246 yards respectively. Mosley also has three touchdowns on the ground.
Raceland is led by QB Nathaniel Davidson who has 672 yards passing and seven touchdowns. Kane Snyder leads the Rams in rushing with 463 yards and seven touchdowns while Kyle Jamison is the leading receiver with 253 yards.
Both teams have played a strong schedule to get them ready for tough district play which starts next week for both teams. Lawrence Co. only has one more home game after this one and Friday night’s contest is Youth League night at Luke Varney Memorial Stadium when local Youth League players, coaches and cheerleaders will be recognized.
