PIKEVILLE, KY – On Friday, September 25, the Southeast Kentucky Chamber of Commerce celebrated one of their newest members, Big Sandy Mountain Heritage/History Center by hosting a grand opening.
Their grand opening event was an outdoor event in the plaza behind the Old Courthouse in Pikeville, and featured a ribbon cutting ceremony, live music by Waylon Nelson, a live preview of Blood Song by the Artist Collaborative Theatre, guided tours of the museum, refreshments and more.
The Big Sandy Heritage Center’s grand opening was an occasion for visitors and the community to see the traveling exhibit, The Hatfield’s & McCoy’s: American Blood Feud, which is currently on loan from the West Virginia Humanities Council until October 3.
The Big Sandy Mountain Heritage/History Center is located at 172 Division Street in the Judicial Annex behind the Old Courthouse building in downtown Pikeville.
