Two men who escaped from the Community Corrections Center in downtown Louisville Monday night by climbing down from the building’s roof using knotted bedsheets are now back in custody.
WDRB-TV reports Matthew William Johnson, 29, and Christopher Cornelius, 37, were apprehended early Tuesday.
Both inmates were jailed on heroin possession charges. Now they are also charged with escape.
Officials noticed the two were missing about 9 p.m. Monday, WDRB reported. The two had been on a work detail when they vanished. The facility houses minimum security inmates.
