SEPTEMBER 10, 2015
Louisa, Ky On a beautiful Saturday for football the Lawrence Co. Bulldogs welcomed the Chesapeake Panthers to Luke Varney Memorial Stadium.
The “D” team game was the best of the day as the Dawgs pulled out a 12-10 Victory.
Wyatt Branham tackled the Panther running back around the 15 yard line as time expired. The Dawgs defense was outstanding all day lead by Branham and Ayden Morris.
After Chesapeake took a 8-0 lead Sam Lefever scored from 25 yards out on a nifty run to set the halftime score of 8-6. After no scoring in the 3rd Quarter the Panthers was driving inside the five yard line when the Dawgs forced a fumble that was recovered by Aden Patton. LC couldn’t do anything with it and was tackled in the endzone for a safety to make the score 10-6.
The Dawgs forced a punt and with under 4 minutes to go in the game they drove down and Branham scored from 10 yards out to give the Dawgs the lead 12-10 and the defense made the final stop to preserve the win.
In the “C” game Lawrence Co. couldn’t get much going on offense and lost 6-0. The defense played very well after giving up an early touchdown. The injury bug has hit this team with key players going down.
In the “B” game Lawrence Co. continued to roll like a well oiled machine as they won 40-0. Kaden Gillispie lead the way with 4 touchdowns and the defense was outstanding once again. Lucas Simpkins played well from his defensive tackle spot to keep the Dawgs undefeated.
The Dawgs will be off this week for Septemberfest and will be back in action Sept 19th when they take on Ceredo-Kenova at Home. First game will be at 10:00 AM.
