MIDDLE DAWGS ROLL BEHIND SOLID DEFENSE
Louisa, Ky — Head Coach Tate Smith knew his team was going to be good this year, but he had no idea the defense would be playing like it has. The Dawgs are off to a 3-0 start after downing East Carter 36-0, beating Ashland in a 14-6 nail biter, and taking down Paintsville 20-0.
The LMS defense has been the catalyst so far they have only given up one touchdown and eleven first downs all year.
CJ Fairchild is leading the team in tackles and Trey Halfhill is achoring the defensive line. Fairchild is also the QB and Is running the show. He has thrown touchdown passes to Chase Sartin and Jaxon Johnson. Brody Cantrell, Trevor Young and Sartin running the ball bery well so far.
The Dawgs will be back in action tonite (Tuesday) at home vs Boyd Co. and Sept. 10th on the road vs Fort Gay. Game will be played at Tolsia High School. Both games will start at 6:00.
COACH’S COMMENTS
“All eleven guys on the field have been getting the job done.” Head Coach Tate Smith said. “Our Defense has been lights out and getting better every game. Offensively we have been sputtering but the kids have worked hard to get the bugs out.”
