Louisa, Ky — The Lawrence Co. VolleyDawgs defeated Jenkins 3-1 at Home by the scores of ( 25-17, 17-25, 25-20, and 25-23 ) to secure the victory and improve to 3-5 on the year.
Freshman Aryana Chapman had 18 kills and 10 aces, junior Hannah Goble had 12 assist, and senior Shelby Fairchild had 13 digs.
LC traveled to Salyersville to take on the Magoffin Co. Lady Hornets and dropped a 5 set heartbreaker by the scores of ( 25-14, 18-25, 25-21, 10-25 and the fifth set 15-13.
The VolleyDawgs will be back in action Thursday at Home vs Morgan Co. at 7:00 and then go on the road to face West Carter Tuesday Sept 3rd at 7:00.
COACH’S COMMENTS…
“Good win vs Jenkins thought the girls played well.” Head Coach April York said. “Lost a tough 5 setter to Magoffin the game was very intense to the very end.
We are so inconsistent and another stumbling block is confidence. Now we move on to Morgan Co. should be another good match,” York said.

SoccerDawgs improved to 5-0 last week with two wins
CLEVENGER SCORES SIX GOALS VS. BELFRY, CLAY STILL PERFECT AT GOAL
LC beat Belfry 10-0 in a Mercy rule game and beat West Virginia Power Cabell Midland 4-3.
Against Belfry Victoria Clevenger scored 6 goals, Raegan Crum 2 goals and 1 assist, Scylar Bowens 1 goal and 1 assist, Makenzie Frazier 1 goal and 1 assist, Skylar Chapman 2 assist, Kaytlyn Bowens 2 assist and Goal Keeper Catherine Clay another shutout.
On Saturday LC took down Cabell Midland in a hard fought physical matchup.
Scylar Bowens scored off an assist from Raegan Crum to tie the score at 1-1. Dawgs took the lead when Zayla Granillo found Sophomore Victoria Clevenger for a goal. Skylar Chapman put LC ahead with a penalty kick goal and then won it for the SoccerDawgs with another penalty kick that found the corner and secured the victory.
Lawrence Co. will be back in action Thursday Sept 3rd when the travel to Pike Co. Central and Tuesday Sept 8th at Russell.
