Youth League Bulldogs took to the road this Saturday to take on the South Point Pointers..
LAWRENCE CO. YOUTH LEAGUE FOOTBALL
The ‘B’ team game Lawrence Co. ( 2- 0 ) pitched another shutout as they took down the Pointers 28-0. Kaden Gillispie got the Dawgs on the board with a 56 yard touchdown. With South Point driving and threatening to take the lead Gillispie intercepted a pass and took it 91 yards to the house and Trenton Adkins added the 2 point conversion to give LC a 14-0 lead. Dylan Ferguson rumbled in from 5 yards out and Adkins once again added the 2 points. Gillispie added a 8 yard touchdown run to set the final score of 28-0.
In the ‘C’ team game the Pointers came out on top winning 34-8. South Point got on the board first 6-0 but the Dawgs answered back when Miles Preston hooked up with Cody Crum on a 65 yard touched pass and Talon Pollack added the 2 point conversion to give Lawrence Co. (0-2) 8-6 lead. It was all South Point after that.
In the ‘D’ team game the Dawgs ran into a buzz saw and fell 34-8 to the Pointers.
Brady Nelson scored from 10 yards out and Ty Brooks added the 2 point play for Lawrence Co. (0-2). The Dawgs will be back in action at home this Saturday vs Chesapeake at Luke Varney Memorial Stadium at 10:00 am. South Point will travel to Buffalo.
” The defense for the ‘B’ played very strong lead by Dylan Ferguson and Kaden Gillispie ” Head Coach Heath Preston said. Bryan Nelson picked up a fumble as well. Preston said.
The ‘C’ team battled with Miles Preston and Cody Crum but give South Point credit they played well.
The ‘D’ team is still coming along well a lot of players still getting used to playing 4 quarters.
