Two transported to TRMC after accident near St. Jude church
LOUISA, KY — On August 17, 2015 at 15:20pm the Louisa Police Department was requested by the Lawrence County 911 Center to respond to the report of a three vehicle collision in the area of the St. Jude Catholic Church located at the intersection of Meadowbrook Lane and Gene Wilson Boulevard.
According to police report, Jennifer Amy Adkins, 36 of Louisa along with her three children were traveling on Meadowbrook Lane when another vehicle driven by Virginia Way, 72 of Louisa turned in front of her trying to enter onto Gene Wilson Blvd. Adkins attempted to avoid the collision but struck Mrs. Way’s vehicle which knocked her into the pathway of the third vehicle driven by Joshua Maynard, 31, also of Louisa. Maynard was traveling behind Mrs. Way with his wife and four children and was unable to avoid the collision.
Mrs. Way and Jackie Maynard were transported to TRMC for treatment. Mr. Maynard was treated for injuries on the scene.
Further investigation determined that Mrs. Way did not have proof of insurance and that her vehicle’s registration had expired in March 2014. Mrs. Way also was driving on a suspended drivers license through the state of Ohio.
Mrs. Way was cited into court for Operating on a Suspended License, Failure to Register Transfer of Motor Vehicle, Failure to Notify DMV of Address Change, Failure to Maintain Required Insurance 1st , Failure to Produce Valid Insurance Card. Her given court date is September 8, 2015.
