DAN PREECE SCORES HOLE IN ONE!
Tuesday, August 11, 2015, was a great day for playing golf, especially if your name is Dan Preece. On #17, Dan placed his tee shot at the bottom of the cup using a gap wedge from about 110 yards. This shot is a rarity in the league. For all the years the league has been in existence, I believe this is only the second hole in one ever recorded in league competition.
The greens were running fast, and the course was in great shape after all the rain. Although I discovered that it had rained in Louisa, there was no rain at Eagle Ridge. The rough had been cut, but it was still tough; the fairways were perfect. If only I could stay in the fairway.
There are only 4-weeks remaining in league play. Next week the players will be playing with their final handicaps and the chase for the championship will be throttle down. The rankings will be announced next week so everyone can make their final push.
