Motorists in Kentucky can budget a little more for Christmas shopping this year. According to GasBuddy, a source for gasoline pricing information, the Bluegrass State is one of 20 where gas prices are expected to dip below $2 per gallon by the holidays.
“We’re confident that our projections give consumers more than accuracy; we think they’ll help them identify some savings that should come in handy at Thanksgiving and Christmas,” said Patrick DeHaan, a petroleum analyst for GasBuddy.
The national average for December is predicted to slip to $1.98.
The fall is expected to continue well into 2016. The predicted trend is due largely to decreased demand for gas in the fall and winter.
At present, GasBuddy said the lowest price in Kentucky is $2.13 a gallon with $2.39 being the average price. In most locations across the state, the trend is for gas prices to fall, the GasBuddy website said.
