Cains Creek cross drain fix closes road Monday, maybe Tuesday
LAWRENCE COUNTY – July 31, 2015 – Cains Creek Road, KY 3394, will be closed to all traffic on Monday, August 3, so that Highway District 12 maintenance workers can replace a cross drain that runs underneath the pavement.
Todd Moran, Lawrence County Superintendent, said that the site is between the 4 and 5 mile marker.
“To replace a cross drain, we have to cut a trench into the pavement that is wide enough to remove the old drain and install a new one,” Moran explained. “People will have to find an alternate route during this temporary inconvenience. We apologize, but it is necessary to restore better drainage along this roadway.”
Moran said work should begin about 8 o’clock Monday morning. It is possible that the drain replacement can be finished in one working day, but Moran said people should plan to use an alternate route on Tuesday morning just in case. The road will re-open as soon as the new drain is installed and the pavement is replaced.
