Buffalo, W. Va — After finishing State Runner Up the week before, the LC 8under All Stars got right back to action this past weekend this time coming home with the Championship going 3-1 in the Buffalo Tournament.
LC went 2-0 Friday Night to put themselves in the drivers seat.
In the first game they beat Flatwoods Freedom 14-11 led by Owen Pack and Boedy Maynard.
Up next for LC was Barboursville and the All Stars took care of them 10-0 as Braxton Davis, Tygar Cavins, Peyton Marcum and Gavin Wells led the offense in this one.
LC only needed to win one game on Saturday but Freedom had other ideas as they came out on fire to force another game this one was winner take all. In the Championship game LC came out on top 8-5 to bring the trophy back to Lawrence Co. Eli Fletcher, Ty Brooks and Davis led the All Stars in this one. The last two weekends LC 8u has played some really good Baseball.
COACH’s Comments… “Played very good Friday against a good Freedom team Flatwoods we have played them a couple times already this year and all of the games have been close.” Coach Eric Maynard said.
“The 2nd game that night vs Barboursville we came out on fire our defense stole the show, all the coaches have said all year to keep the force on and that is exactly what the kids did.”
On Saturday I think we came out a little flat in the first game and Freedom was ready to play and took it right to is. In the Championship game the kids showed a lot of toughness and that they had a short memory to put the loss behind them and get the tourney win.
LC Baseball has a good thing going right now. Want to thank all of our parents along with Bill Pack, Robbie Fletcher, Harvey Marcum, and Ryan Ward who all stepped up on short notice.”
