Elementary school students are invited to join Hepzibah Baptist Church this week for vacation bible school which is taking place at Blaine Elementary School through Thursday from 9:30-11:30am.
The church, which is visiting the area from Talladega, Alabama has brought a group of volunteers and is working with Unity Baptist Church of Blaine to help make the event possible. Children, grades kindergarten to grade 6 can participate in physical activities such as badminton but are also given the opportunity to hear stories from the Bible along with crafts and trivia.
“We’re just blessed to be here, spreading the love of Christ,” said Leigh Ann Sims, volunteer.
To kick off the week, a block party style cookout was held Monday evening where children and their parents were able to enjoy vocal performances and skits by the church’s youth choir along complete with games and door prizes.
