Sonya Lynn Williamson-Dillon
1968 – 2015
Sonya Lynn Williamson-Dillon, 46 of Fort Gay, WV, entered into rest June 29, 2015 at Cabell Huntington Hospital.
Sonya was born December 30, 1968 to Bobby Williamson and the late Delores Kay Stepp-Williamson in Columbus, OH. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Otis Lynn Dillon.
She is survived by her daughter, Lillian Kay Dillon, two sisters, Pamela and husband Richard Meddings of Crum, WV, Lorena and husband Gabriel Smith of Fort Gay, WV, one brother, Bobby Williamson of Roanoke, VA, two nephews, Brandon Meddings and Tristan Smith, one very special friend and neighbor, James Tucker, and a host of friends and co-workers.
Sonya was a member of Saltpetre Community Church, where her late husband, Rev. Otis Lynn Dillon, served as an elder. She was employed by Zimms Bagging Co. before she was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. Sonya was a very kind and compassionate individual that always had an encouraging word for those that battled the daily struggles of life. During the tenure of her illness, she was very devoted to uplifting those afflicted by cancer, by crocheting prayer shawls for them that she would bring before the elders of the church to be anointed and prayed over. Though her condition weakened her mortal body, her faith in God never waned. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, but by a faithful reliance on the finished work of Christ at the cross there will be another reunion.
Memorial services will be conducted Sunday, July 5, 2015 at 4 p.m. at Saltpetre Community Church with Rev. Gabriel Smith and Rev. Steve Ramey officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lillian Kay Dillon Scholarship Fund.
Care has been entrusted to Wilson Funeral Home.
