LOUISA, KY — City street workers have been at work getting ready for the upcoming 4th of July Celebration activities. Lawrence County Tourism Commission and the City of Louisa partnered in a project to put up new banners on the light poles downtown. “This is another step in our Re-Discover Louisa initiative and I think it looks nice” says Mayor Slone. “ I have asked the street workers to work hard on trying to get the town looking nice for the holiday coming up, by cleaning weeds and grass from the streets, adding flowers to the pots downtown and installing the new banners”. “Work will continue next week” Slone added.
The 4th of July celebration this year will include a parade at 1pm, an impressive bluegrass concert at Main Street Park with food vendors and inflatables, and a larger than usual fireworks display at 10 pm which can be viewed from most of the city. The Louisa City Pool will be open late and the fireworks can be seen well from the roof top gazebo area of the pool.
All activities are FREE to the public including the pool.
Everyone have a safe and Happy Celebration!
