Elementary students in the Minecraft Designers class June 22-26 at Ashland Community and Technical College got pointers from instructor Wrendi Prince on creating new objects to import into their Minecraft worlds. Ms. Prince teaches seventh and eighth grade at Fallsburg Elementary School.
Minecraft Designers is one of the week-long summer computer camps offered by ACTC Workforce Solutions for youth. The Minecraft, Lego, video game animation and application design class help youth develop problem solving skills in activities they enjoy.
The hands on-class encourage development of STEP Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) skills and encourage creativity in finding alternative ways to accomplish a task and teamwork in working with collaborative games.
The ACTC classes for youth ages 8 to 11 and 11 to 14 continue through July. Ms. Prince will be teaching App Adventures classes July 6-10, App Attack classesJuly 13-17 and Lego Universe classes July 20-24.
