First citations in Louisa for selling alcohol to minors
LOUISA, Ky. — On June 19, 2015 the Louisa Police Department and Louisa Alcohol Beverage Control Administrator William Leedy conducted several quality control checks on establishments selling alcohol.
Using underage, 17 years old males they were able to purchase alcohol at three different places. Two of the locations were presented with a 32 year old female’s identification while another place was presented with an ID of a 25 year old male, neither belonging to the juveniles whom made the purchases.
Each clerk was issued a citation into court for Selling Alcoholic Beverages to Minors 1st Offense, a Class B Misdemeanor. Chief Fugitt and ABC Administrator William Leedy both stated that they are just hoping that this causes the clerks to look a little more closely at ID’s when someone tries to use them.
Citations were issued to Ashley Branham, 21, of Blaine, Jennifer Wilson, 27, of Genoa WV, and Rebecca Watts, 51, of Fort Gay. The women are employees of Rite Aid, Food City and the Outpost.
