Louisa, Ky — It all started on March 16 with a 9-4 win over Prestonsburg and ended exactly where Lawrence Co. Baseball team wanted it to Whitaker Bank Park in Lexington.
The Dawgs finished 23-16, 60th District Champions, 15th Region Champions.
LC will lose four seniors in Warren Price, Noah Lambert, Josh Cantrell , and Eric Salyers. They return 7 starters.
Lawrence Co. had ups and downs this year but the season was a huge success. Head Coach Travis Feltner and his staff have produced three district and three region championship in seven years while competing in one of the toughest districts in Eastern Ky.
It has been a blast covering this team from the players to the coaches all have been a pleasure to work with. Can’t wait for next season.

COACH’S COMMENTS
“This might be the most satisfying of them all because in ’09 and ’11 we were supposed to win. We had the likes of Shepherd and Banks.” Head Coach Travis Feltner said. “This season we played a challenging schedule early and dug ourselves a hole in terms of wins and losses, but in the long run it made us better,” Feltner said. “This team sacrificed a lot over the last twelve months and that doesn’t always get rewarded. Not about wins and losses it is about relationships and every kid I have coached I have daily, weekly, monthly or at least yearly contact with.
“My four seniors will be missed. Warren Price came back to us a couple years ago and really grew up. Nothing but great things ahead for this young man who was a great leader and it was an honor for me to be a part of his life. Eric Salyers had many ups and downs through his career very proud of him for finishing so strong what a moment for him to throw a shutout in the regional tourney. Josh Cantrell missed his entire junior year and we missed him as well. He came back around and had a great senior year offensively and defensively. Noah Lambert has been patrolling center field since he was a freshman, he has been rock solid and will be hard to replace. All four will truly be missed.
“A lot of great kids on this team owe a lot of that to their parents who raised them up the right way. Want to thank my coaches Dave Micheal, Jackie Holt, Steve Blevins and Julius Music. They spend a lot of time away from their families and give back to these kids and community, we couldn’t do what we do without them. Also want to thank my wife, kids, the school system and the community for all of the support.”
