Business is booming in Blaine! Nashville famous musician, singer and songwriter Larry Cordle recently visited his hometown of Blaine for his father’s funeral. While in town, he and sister Miranda enjoyed dining at the newly opened Kimbers Country Market. “It was excellent food,” said Cordle. “Highly recommend it.”
Kimbers Country Market also recently helped a husband surprise his wife for their 28th wedding anniversary. Ed Williams worked with the market employees to have roses and jewelry set up upon wife Lesea’s arrival as they enjoyed a candle lit dinner.
The market has featured daily specials such as chicken and dumplings as well as town favorites like hotdogs with the school system’s old sauce recipe.
“We love seeing everyone have a place to eat and enjoy,”said owner Kimber Skaggs. “It’s just a different way to be involved in the community and I love it!”
Other news at Blaine comes with a more industrial flavor
A well-known businessman in the county said today that he has knowledge of companies scrambling for oil and gas in Lawrence County. One company located not too far from Fallsburg in Lawrence County is already working on a large operation.
He said the company has plans to build 28 more drilling sites in the county which will bring business to Lawrence County including the Blaine and Charley areas. Another huge drilling site, located in the southern part of the county has been putting in a major gas line for the past two years.
