Great deals and smiling faces
The Annual Rt. 23 Yard Sale kicked off the Memorial Day Weekend, beginning Thursday, May 21, as vendors began setting up their wares early Friday morning.
The yard sale, now in its 8th year, covers 130 miles, stretching from Greenup County along the Ohio River to Letcher County in the mountains, touching the Virginia border.
The yard sale continues to grow each year, and from all accounts, this year has been the biggest one yet. With more vendors and much more traffic, Saturday, May 23, proved that to be true.
From antiques and collectibles, to clothing, housewares, tools, to fishing equipment, furniture, to memorial flowers and everything in between, there were bargains to be found along the famous Country Music Highway.
The Annual 23 Yard Sale is held during Memorial Day weekend each year. If you missed it this year, make plans to catch it next year, whether you are a vendor or a buyer.
If you love yard sales, don’t forget the Rt. 60 Yard Sale that begins on old Rt. 60 in Boyd County and runs through Carter County, and Rowan County. This sale takes place every year during the first weekend in August.
These highway yard sales are not only a great opportunity to find a good deal, but also a time to slow down and enjoy the scenery and recreation in the area.
