Dawgs take 2015 District 60 crown
Pikeville, Ky — Getting moved into a new district didn’t faze the Lawrence Co. Bulldogs one bit as they breezed to a Championship behind Austin Bailey on the mound and at the plate.
The Dawgs beat Belfry 7-0 as Bailey threw a complete game while giving up only one hit, striking out 7 and walking one. District MVP Morgan Miller led the offensive attack from his lead off spot, getting on base three times including an RBI triple to put the game out of reach in the 6th inning.
Brad Parks was on base four times, picking up two hits and one RBI. Bailey had two hits, Noah Lambert had an RBI double, Warren Price, Josh Cantrell and Zach Keesee had one hit. Lawrence Co. improved to 20-15 on the year. Belfry fell to 13-12 in the lose but will continue to the regional tournament.

Coach’s Comments…
“Bailey was awesome for us,” Coach Travis Feltner said. “He showed no signs of slowing down, so we rode him till the end.”
Bailey was very efficient and never had an inning where he threw more then 20 pitches, Feltner said.
“Miller has been outstanding all year long, elevated his game big time,” Feltner said. “We should be at full strength next week when we get Chase back who has been one of our best hitters all year.”
“I believe we are playing our best baseball right now and good hitting takes pressure off of our defense and pitching.” Feltner said.
