2015 SENIOR NIGHT LCHS Softball
Louisa, Ky — On an emotional night for a couple reasons Tosha Rose was the calming effect the Lady Dawgs needed in their latest win.
Honoring two seniors and Head Coach Kenny Horn absent from the dugout while attending the viewing for his Mother, Rose tossed six shutout innings giving up four hits and striking out five in a Mercy rule 10-0 victory over Sheldon Clark.
Rose had plenty of help led by the two seniors Hali Young and Savannah Cyrus who combined to go 3-8 with two runs scored and two runs batted in each.
McKenzie Giampalo and Addy Frazier both had three hits, 8th grader Abby Fletcher was 2-4 with a double.
Ally Marcum, Haleigh Peck, Ciana Bowen and Rose had one hit apiece for the Lady Dawgs who improved to 19-12 on the year. For the Lady Cards who dropped to 10-14 Kelsey Dean, Laken Newsome, Fallyn Wefenstette and Alysis Preece had 1 hit each.
Lawrence Co. will be back in action on Saturday as they host South Floyd and Pendleton County. Sheldon Clark will travel to Belfry on Saturday.
Coach’s Comments:
“Emotional with Hali and Savannah and it being Senior Night plus Kenny not being here. Those girls mean so much to our program and will be hard to replace, seems like they been in the starting lineup forever.” Coach Dennis Bowen said. Tosha pitched a good game her control was good and defense backed her up. This time of year we try to get everything rolling going into District play. Hopefully our offense will start clicking, tonight every starter had at least one hit and starts at the top with our Seniors. “
