The Louisa Chapter of DAR met on Tuesday April 28th, 2015 at the Lawrence County Library. Regent Mary Ellen Reid called the meeting to order. After opening ceremonies, Refreshments were served by Hostesses Patricia Hatfied, Reba Whitt, Wanda Cassady and Dottie Copley. Twenty seven members and guests were present.
The guest speaker was Jill Cantrell , ER director at TRMC. Cantrell gave an informational talk about the services offered in the ER. She said over 19,000 patients were seen in the past year with an average of 52 patients or more a day.
Other business discussed was the election of officers for the 2015-2016 year. All nominations were accepted unanimously. The installation of officers and many other Community Service Awards will be at the June 12 , Flag Day, Dinner meeting at 6:00 pm in the Lawrence Co. Library.
The next regular meeting will be Tuesday May 26 th. All meetings are scheduled for the 4th Tuesday of the month at 6:00 in the Lawrence County Library.
All members are invited to attend.
