Much needed convenience for campers at both campgrounds
Good news for campers at Lawrence County Park and Yatesville Lake State Park Campground! There is now a camp store open for the convenience of campers and will be easily accessible from both campgrounds.
Located in the space adjacent to the Lawrence County Park office, Lakeshore General Store is operated by Jennifer Patrick, and has been open for a couple weeks now, although she is adding more to it all the time.
The store is stocked with necessity items that campers may have forgotten or ran out of such as paper products, toiletries, batteries, flashlights, ice, firewood, and much more.
Basic pantry staples for campers are a available including hotdogs, buns, condiments, canned and boxed food, and the number one camping necessity…..marshmallows!
A variety of gift items are also included in the store’s inventory, and Patrick says she plans to add a coffee cart, ice-cream, t-shirts, more souvenirs, and fishing bait. “We want the store to serve the campers’ needs as much as possible.”
County Judge, John Osborne announced the availability of the space last year, offering it as a business opportunity in the county. “I’m glad to see someone step up and put in this store so our campers will have things they need close by” he said.
Before, the closest place for campers to go for things they needed was the BP Service Station on Rt. 32 or Walmart. Now, with the closing of the BP station due to the road project, that option is no longer available, so Lakeshore General Store is going to be a convenient, much needed service for campers.
Lakeshore General Store will be open during camping season; April through October, however, Patrick has plans to be open year round offering other merchandise. Hours of operation may vary depending on campground volume.
