Louisa, KY — Tuesday morning, April 21, Lawrence County Judge, John Osborne, signed a proclamation to Stand Up For Children, bringing awareness to the issue of child abuse.
The proclamation signals the beginning of the parent-children program held each year and organized by the area school resource centers. Activities relating to child care, safety, wellness, parenting skills, nutrition, and many more, are available during the event which will be held at the Lawrence County Community Center on Thursday evening, April 30. Registration will begin at 4:45 pm.
There will be prizes, food, games and fun activities for the children, and educational
sessions for the parents. Pinwheels will be placed in front of businesses in support of the program to prevent child abuse.
All Lawrence County School Resource Centers were present at the proclamation signing, as was all four magistrates.
