Louisa, KY — Circuit Court Judge, Hon. John David Preston, handed down sentences and heard pleas last week in Lawrence County Circuit Court which included 29 year old Cecil Evans Jr., who has been charged with Rape, Sodomy and Sexual Abuse, all in the first degree on a child under 12 years of age. Evans will appear in court for a pre-trial conference on May 8.
A 1st Degree Arson charge was amended to 2nd Degree for Mary J. Howard, 65. Howard was sentenced to 10 years which included 5 years probation and 2 years home incarceration.

Brandon Birt, 28, changed his plea to guilty on charges of amended Complicity Burglary (2 counts) and sentenced to 4 years probation, supervised 5 years, to be served consecutive to each other. The charge of Complicity Possession of Marijuana was dismissed. Final sentencing May 8.
Scott B. Bunyard, 27, pled guilty and was sentenced to 10 years on charge of Complicity Manufacturing Meth, 3 years for Complicity Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 12 months for Complicity Drug Paraphernalia-Buy/Possession and the Persistent Felony Offender charge enhanced Count One 10 years. Final sentencing May 8.
Jessie Caudill, 31, was arraigned, pleading not guilty to charge of Complicity Theft By Unlawful Taking-Disposition Shoplifting. Pre-trial conference April 24.
Brian A. Chapman, 25, had had his probation revoked after a hearing was held and he was remanded to jail.
David C . Daniels, 39, pled guilty and was sentenced to 2 years diversion, supervised and other standard conditions on charge of Complicity Tampering With Physical Evidence. A charge of Trafficking In Legend Drug was dismissed.
Cecil Evans Jr., 29, was arraigned pleading not guilty to sex charges including Rape 1st Degree, Victim Under 12 years of age, two counts of Sodomy 1st Degree Victim Under 12, and Sexual Abuse 1st Degree, Victim Under 12. Pre-trial Conference May 8.
Robert Evans, 43, was sentenced to 18 months to serve on charge of 1st Degree Possession of Controlled Substance/Drug Unspecified. 262 days jail credit applied.
Tammy Hicks, 44, pled guilty and sentenced to 1 year to serve on charge of Complicity Theft By U lawful Taking-Disposition-Shoplifting. Final sentencing May 8.
Kevin S. Hodge, 38, pled guilty and was sentenced to 1 year on charge of Receiving Stolen Property. Sentence to run consecutive to other case, total 4 years.

Mary J. Howard, 65, pled guilty and was sentenced to 10 years, probation unsupervised 5 years, 2 years home incarceration and other conditions in agreement on Amended charge of Arson. Final sentencing May 8.
Gregory A. Preece, 51, had his probation revoked after a hearing was held, and was remanded to the Department of Corrections.
Jessica L. Riffe, 32, was sentenced to 18 months to serve on charge of 1st Degree Possession of Controlled Substance, 265 days jail credit applied.
Rebecca Ward, 44, was sentenced to 5 years for Complicity Burglary 3rd Degree.
The charge of Complicity Burglary 2nd Degree was dismissed, and a charge of Persistent Felony Offender enhanced sentence to 10 years. 175 days jail credit was applied. On the charge of Complicity Receiving Stolen Property, sentence was 5 years and another Persistent Felony charge enhanced sentence to 10 years to run concurrent.
Johnathan M. Young, 37, was scheduled for trial on August 11 on charges of Complicity Manufacture Meth, Persistent Felony Offender 1st Degree, Tampering With Physical Evidence, and Complicity Drug Paraphernalia. Defendant is to report for court July 10.
