Jean Preston Perry
1928 – 2015
Jean Preston Perry, 86, of Fort Gay WV went home to be with the Lord on April 10th, 2015 at the Wayne Nursing and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by her family.
Jean was born June 5th, 1928, the daughter of the late Norman C. and Leta Jarrell Preston. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Walter A. Perry in 2002. Also preceding her in death a daughter-in-law Helen Holt Perry, four sisters, Mabel, Dell, and Elizabeth Preston, her twin sister Anita Porter and three brothers Lawrence, Frank and John Preston.
Jean was a lifelong member of Old Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church where she served as Church Secretary for many years. She loved gardening, canning and working in her flowers. She was an avid UK basketball fan and enjoyed watching her wildcats play.
Those left here to cherish her memory is her daughter Norma (Bob) Chiarenzelli of Paragould AR, six sons, Mile Perry of Paragould AR, Tony (Marilyn) Perry of Prichard, WV, Randy (Lisa) Perry of Huntington, WV, Herb (Harriet) Perry of Fort Gay, WV, Dennis (Rhonda) Perry of Wayne, WV, and Loren (Tracy) Perry of Fort Gay, WV. Two sisters, Louise (Albert J) Perry of Wheat Ridge CO and Wilma (Max) Wetherall of Barboursville, WV. Also 14 Grandchildren, Robbie and Evan Chiarenzelli, Kelly Perry, Seth Perry, Megan Adkins, Amy Coble, Heather Perry, Rachel Mullin, Emily Crawford, Madison Mills, Lauren and Ethan Perry, Corey and Chase Perry. Thirteen great grandchildren, Mike, Devon, and Sheldon Bruetsch, Killian, Ronan, Delaney, Rory, and Fiona Mullin, Madden and Jovie Coble, Matthew and Audrey Crawford and Cameron Adkins.
The Family would especially like to thank the nurses, CNA’s and all the staff at Wayne Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their professionalism, care and love that they showed Mom and all our family during her stay there. Your caring and kindness will never be forgotten.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Sunday, April 12, 2015 at Old Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Gary Howell officiating. Burial will follow at the Perry Cemetery on Hampton Ridge, Genoa WV
