Roger Murphy, 62, of Louisa, Ky. passed away Thursday, March 26, 2015 at his home.
He was born June 7, 1952 in Louisa, Ky. a son of the late Herman and Sarah Smith Murphy. He was a retired tobacco farmer. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, Clayton Murphy and Delbert Murphy; sisters, Willa May Deming and Marie Ottman.
Survivors include, his loving wife, Portia Murphy of Louisa, Ky.; daughter, Tonya (Jerry Legg) Murphy of Sandy Hook, Ky.; son, Roger Douglas (Regina Stewart) Murphy of Louisa, Ky.; his pride and joy, granddaughter, Jadden (Alexander Chase) Castle of Louisa, Ky.; sisters, Caroline Murphy of Buchanan, Ky.; Kathy (Larry) Bryant of Buchanan, Ky.; Herma Coons of Chilocothe, Ohio; Carey Smith of Wavery, Ohio; Lois (Eddie) Chaffin of Columbus, Ohio; Alma (Howard) Preston of Louisa, Ky.; Judy (Joe) Childers of Louisa, Ky.; Mary Bowen of Louisa, Ky.; Naomi Scott of Fallsburg, Ky.; brothers, Charles Murphy of Chilocothe, Ohio; Robert Murphy of Fallsburg, Ky..
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at Young Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Greg Caudill officiating. Burial will follow at the Murphy Cemetery, Louisa, Ky..
Visitation will be 7:00 til 9:00 pm Monday at Young Funeral Home.
