Region 15 Runners-Up 2015

PIKEVILLE, Ky. — Playing in just the schools second ever region final the Lawrence County Bulldog basketball team seemed destined for Rupp Arena after a comeback win over Sheldon Clark. Standing in the way, however was 3-peat champion Johnson Central and 15th Region Player of the Year, Kyle Gullett.
The Dawgs got 17 points from Timmy Dalton, 15 from Robert Dalton, 13 from Brandon Richardson, 11 from Grant Kiser, and 4 points from Austin Chaffins but that wasn’t enough to stop the Central streak. JC out-rebounded Lawrence 43-26 and got 20 points off the bench en route to a 67-60 victory.
Lawrence County had no answer for the size of Tyler Pack, Josh Hitchcock, and Gullett who combined for 28 points and 17 rebounds. The Golden Eagles (23-9) will move on to their 4th straight Sweet Sixteen and play the winner of the Seventh Region (Louisville Ballard or DuPont Manual) in opening round action on Thursday, March 19, at noon.
Lawrence County finished the season with a record of 19-13 under first year Head Coach, Travis York and will be the heavy favorite to win the title next season as they return their entire team.
