Louisa, KY — Have you ever thought about owning your own business? Is it your dream to open your own shop? Do you have a special skill or talent from which you could maybe make money? Or do you already own a small business, but need help with marketing, financial or operations management or other issues?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, you are in luck! There will be a 12 hour training course over a period of four weeks, beginning Thursday March 12 from 5:30-8:30pm at the Lawrence County Extension Office in Louisa, KY.
The remaining classes will be Monday, March 16, Thursday, March 26, and Thursday, April 2. All classes are from 5:30-8:30 pm, and include training material, dinner, and at the end, all participants will receive a certificate of completion.
The course, titled Entrepreneurial SMARTS; Simple Methods And Reality-based Training for Success, is a common sense, no nonsense approach training for entrepreneurs and small business owners.
The course consists of 12 hours of concentrated training, a student manual of over 260 pages of instructions, worksheets, and resources, sample business plans, networking opportunities with other entrepreneurs and business owners, credibility with potential investors, banks and other lending agents, ongoing technical assistance, and more.
Kristina McFeeters, owner of Kristina’s Kitchen in Whitley City, KY, said, “This class was perfect to start our own business. We had just opened our own business three months before attending. I wish we’d been able to take the class first. I highly recommend everyone to take the class. You’ll never regret it.”
The owner of Old Homeplace Farm in Manchester, KY, Will Bowling, said, “The training provided a great foundation for further optimizing our business. Lessons were relevant and timely.”
The registration fee is only $25 per person, an outstanding value compared to $250, which is the regular cost of the training.
Amanda Kelly, a small business training specialist, will be teaching the classes. She encourages everyone interested to register. “Space is limited, so register early” she said.
