Fourteen year old Alexis (Lexi) Erwin, an 8th grade student at Louisa Middle School, is Louisville bound after winning the district spelling bee recently held at Louisa East Elementary. The state spelling be will be held March 21 at the Galt House, downtown Louisville, KY.
Erwin is also a member of the LMS Academic Team and will be going to Louisville a week before the spelling bee, as the quick recall team will be competing in a state tournament March 14-16.
Erwin said she is excited about both events. “It’s awesome!” she said.
Lexi is the daughter of Keith and Shelia Erwin of Louisa and has been involved with the academic team since the fourth grade.
