Mildred “Mickey” Campbell
1939 – 2015

Mildred “Mickey” Campbell, 75, wife of Mack Campbell of Fort Gay, WV received her crown on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2015 at Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House surrounded by her loving family.
Mickey was born on September 12, 1939 at Fort Gay, West Virginia,a daughter of the late Charlie and Rebecca Lynch Raines. She was preceded in death by brothers James Burlyn, Jack and Revs. Grant and Bromley Raines and sisters Dorothy Jackson, Nancy Jackson, Roberta Young and Helen Collins. Mickey was retired from Wayne County Schools as a cook at her beloved Prichard Elementary where the students knew her as “Cook Mickey”
She is survived by her husband of more than 60 years Mack Campbell. Additional survivors include four daughters: Debbie and Daniel Russell of Wayne,WV; Brenda and Clifford Thompson of Louisa, KY; Patty and Mike Thompson of Fort Gay, WV; Janey Campbell of Fort Gay, WV and son, Tim Campbell of Fort Gay; a special nephew who is more than a brother, Jim Collins of Fort Gay, WV. She was the loving mammam of granddaughters Rebecca and Del Crum and Brittany and JP Midkiff of Crum, WV. The light of her life are her four great grandchildren: Hunter and Cody Crum and Abby and Ally Midkiff. She is also survived by scores of nieces and nephews.
Mickey was a longtime member of Salt Petre Christian Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years to countless children. She loved to camp and will be missed by her camping buddies. Mickey was an excellent cook providing comfort to all who knew her through her food.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, Feb. 13, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Salt Petre Christian Baptist Church by the Rev. Del Crum and Pastors Richard Maynard and Chris Wilson. Burial will follow at the Campbell Family Cemetery at Fort Gay.
Friends may call on Thursday, Feb. 12 at Wilson Funeral in Louisa, Ky from 6-9 p.m.
