LOUISA — The Bulldogs of Lawrence County might be one of the most dangerous teams in the 15th region, and unfortunately for the rest of the teams they are starting to play like it.
Coming off a 88-77 victory over 16th region leader Boyd County on February 3rd the Bulldogs hosted district rival Belfry. The Pirates defeated Lawrence County 95-93 a month earlier in Belfry, Ky. That game was played without key starters Robert and Timmy Dalton, both who by the way are #1 and #2 in scoring on the team.
Lawrence County 96, Belfry 72
The Bulldogs finished with four players in double figures led by junior Robert Dalton who scored a game high 26 points to go along with six rebounds. Sophomore Timmy Dalton finished with a double-double scoring 24 points any grabbing 15 rebounds. Junior Brandon Richardson also reached the 20 point mark with 22 (3/7 3 point shooting)along with eight rebounds. Junior Grant Kiser also reached double figures with 15 points.

Lawrence County scored 20 points or more in 3 out of 4 quarters ( 25,17,27,27).

Sophomore Timmy Dalton scored a career high 38 points to lead the Bulldogs past Williamsburg 110-78. The Bulldogs eclipsed the century mark for the 3rd time this season. Junior Brandon Richardson had another big night finishing with 24 points, junior Robert Dalton chipped in 20, and junior Grant Kiser had another impressive night with 15 points. Junior point guard Austin Chaffins added 11 points of his own as all five starters reached double figures.
Williamsburg coming into the game had not had a team score more than 68 points on them all season and in that game they lost. The Bulldogs nearly doubled the season average points allowed by scoring 110.
Coach’s Comments — “We are really starting to gel. Best full game we have put together all season. Everyone did an almost perfect job. Timmy obviously had a great game and put up some big stats. Brandon and Grant shot the lights out. Robert had a all-around great game. Then you have Austin who sets the table for these guys. Then we have Matt, Tanner, and Shawn giving us good minutes. Love where my team is at right now. That was another rough bus ride. These boys are truly becoming road warriors. Hopefully all these long trips has brought us together as a family. I think you are starting to see that on the court.”
Lawrence County will be back in action Monday night as they travel to Warfield, Ky to battle the Sheldon Clark Cardinals (18-4) in a 15th region matchup.
