A much needed Patch…
The Louisa City Street Crew began cold patching potholes in different areas of the city Wednesday but unfortunately rain and cold temps stopped them after one day. Officials say they plan to resume as soon as the weather permits.
“ We know its a temporary fix but hopefully it will bring much needed relief to some of the worst areas” Harold Slone Mayor of Louisa said today. “ For various reasons the previous administration wasn’t able to get some planned resurfacing accomplished before bad weather began last fall. By the time I took office it was dead of winter so our only alternative was to find someone in the state still making cold patch asphalt material and that’s what we did” Slone added.
Slone managed to get a load in Harrodsburg, Ky so that some of the worst places could get a temporary fix. The Mayor would like to thank the Water Department that traveled to get asphalt for us with their dump truck, the street guys who worked around the cold temps, and of course the support of city council.
“This was a joint effort from everyone at the city and a good foundation for hopefully many projects that lie ahead of us. As I stated at the first meeting, we are all on the same team here and if we work as a team we can see progress”.
