Vinson Museum and welcome Center to host open house in honor of Vinson’s 125th birthday…
January 22 from 10 am to 4pm
The Fred M .Vinson Museum and Welcome Center will host an “open house” Thursday, January 22, from 10 – 4 in honor of the 125th anniversary of Vinson’s birth.
The Museum, on the old Lawrence County Court House square at the corner of Madison and Vinson Streets, is the restored birthplace of Louisa’s native son. He was one of the greatest statesmen of the 20th century and the only Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court ever from Kentucky.
Refreshments will be served and door prizes will be awarded.
Memorabilia of Vinson’s life and career are displayed this month in the Heritage Hall front corridor in the old Court House. Music and signs will direct visitors to the Museum from the Court House.
