Learn about New Health Insurance Coverage;
…and how Three Rivers Medical Center can help you sign up…

Louisa KY — You’ve probably heard that the country has approached its second enrollment wave for affordable health insurance available on the Health Insurance Marketplace.
Starting,January 16th through, February 13th, every Friday from 2:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. in the hospital cafeteria, we would like to invite members of the community to FREE enrollment fairs to learn all about these new health insurance options.
Our staff will clear up confusion surrounding the Health Insurance Marketplace and Medicaid Expansion. These initiatives are part of the Affordable Care Act, which requires most U.S. citizens to have health insurance. A primary goal of the Affordable Care Act is to help uninsured, eligible Americans gain access to affordable healthcare. Financial help to lower costs is also available for people who qualify.
Health Insurance Marketplaces Americans are able to find health plans on the Marketplace that cover a comprehensive set of benefits, and they cannot be denied coverage based on a pre- existing condition. Some of the health benefits include preventive care and wellness services, doctor visits, prescription drugs, hospital and emergency department care, lab services, pediatric services – and more.
Medicaid Expansion In all states, Medicaid provides health coverage for some low-income people, families and children, pregnant women, the elderly, and people with disabilities. In some states, the program covers all low-income adults below a certain income level. Kentucky and West Virginia have chosen to expand Medicaid coverage.
This expansion increases the eligibility limits for adults to 138 percent of the Federal Poverty Level (equivalent to an annual income of $16,105/year for one person; $32,913 for a family of four in 2015). However, citizens must enroll in the program; it’s not automatic. At Three Rivers Medical Center, we’re committed not only to supporting your health needs, but also to educating and informing the people we serve.
Join us on Fridays, through February 13st, to learn more and get any questions answered. We’ll also tell you how we can assist you with the enrollment process and finding government financial resources to help lower costs for your health insurance.
