Louisa, KY — Recently retired LCHS Choir Director, church choir director, mother, teacher and friend to many, Jane Lowe passed away last week. Lowe, who retired from LCHS last year, sadly, lost her battle to cancer.
I interviewed Jane last year when she retired. Below is the story. What a great lady!

My son had her in school, and she was a huge inspiration to him; not only as a teacher, but as a very good friend as well.
Lowe was originally from WV, but said in the interview, how she considered Louisa to be her home, and “adopted” a family here. People certainly felt that way about her too, as she was a very important part of this community. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Being a giving person to the very end, Lowe donated her body to the Marshall University School of Medicine. Due to that fact, there will not be a standard visitation and funeral, but a memorial service will be held for Jane Lowe on Saturday, January 10, at 1:00pm, at the Louisa United Methodist Church.
A committee is being formed to establish a scholarship in her memory. Our love and prayers go out to her daughter, Keight, the family, and Jane’s many friends.
She leaves behind a legacy in Louisa; having made a difference in many people’s lives, and lots of great memories. We love you Jane, sing on…..
